Juan is a digital accessibility specialist with more than 20 years’ experience. Being visually impaired himself, he has experienced firsthand the challenges faced by people with disabilities, especially when it comes to the web, that is why he is passionate about improving web accessibility and sharing his knowledge to make the web more accessible to all.

A digital Accessibility disruptor in his own right, Juan began creating and designing the framework for what he envisioned for a full-serve and efficient accessibility solutions platform over seven years ago. Today, the CEO and the Digita11y Accessible technology team are continuously developing, iterating and prototyping the company’s digital tool A11Yn.

Juan has a long-storied career honing his expertise working as an Accessibility SME for organizations such as the Bank of Montreal, Scotiabank, CIBC, Ryerson University, George Brown College, NTT Data Inc, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and Ministry of Consumer Services, CNIB, and Deloitte Canada. He has also taught the Inclusive Design Certificate at Humber college, as well as the Creating Accessible Websites at Sheridan College

Setting up an accessibility framework for digital projects in the banking industry

Learn how an accessibility framework helps different stakeholders (i.e. project managers, product owners, designers, business analysts, developers and testers), set up a consistent approach to the delivering of accessible projects in an organization.
Ensure there are defined roles and responsibilities for each stakeholder as it relates to accessibility.
