Anthony Peterson has lived, studied, written about, and taught about cultural, racial and other diversity realities throughout his life.

Anthony has designed and facilitated diversity workshops since 2004. He has led workshops in corporate, academic, and community settings. His degrees in psychology (B.A., Willamette University) and religious education (M.A., Scarritt Graduate School).

Anthony’s diversity discussions took a personal turn in 2014, when he began documenting conversations with his white grandchildren regarding race. He hopes that those conversations serve as an invitation for others to tell their own racial stories.

Anthony is Senior Consultant and Facilitator for people3, a diversity, equity, and inclusion agency. He is pursuing a post-Master’s Specialist of Education degree in Culture, Cognition and Learning Process. He is a contributor to Rhetoric, Race and Religion, and he blogs at AnthonyPetersonSpeaks.com.

Since early June 2020, in the wake of the George Floyd murder, Anthony has led conversations for a variety of organizations to help process the cultural, historical, societal and personal moment. In 2019 Anthony presented, “Listening to Children about Race” at The New Story Festival in Austin, TX in March 2019. Anthony presented "Thruths about Race" at Harvard University in 2018. In 2017, he visited McMurry University in Abilene, TX, and presented “Diversity and Athletic Civility” to 350 scholar athletes. He also facilitated discussion with coaches from all sports regarding racial diversity. Also in 2017, Anthony presented “A Christian Biblical Perspective on Multiculturalism” to 500 students at Bryan College in Dayton, TN, and advised student and staff groups on diversity and inclusion issues.

Anthony lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife, Laura. They have four children and twelve grandchildren.
