Ruben Alejandro is passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion. He is determined to help leaders understand the importance of embedding ED&I as part of the business agenda and priorities. Ruben is a savvy strategic leader with strong people management skills, a focus on company growth, process simplification, and making results-oriented business decisions.

He holds an MBA and a Master in Management from Tulane University and has extensive experience defining sales and marketing strategies, through customer listening. Born in Mexico, living in Switzerland, he is a proud member of the LGBTQI+ community and currently leading the ED&I strategy as Group Head of Diversity and Inclusion for the Syngenta Group and its 49,000 people across more than 100 countries.


Ruben is highly driven to create an inclusive and equitable environment for the diverse team in the Syngenta Group by focusing on fostering and promoting psychological safety, mental health, equal payment for equal jobs, and zero tolerance to racist and harassing behaviors. He is a firm believer that everyone in the organization should embrace equity, diversity, and inclusion, since it will help keep the business thriving, and is the right thing to do.
